The idea for these small brightly coloured etchings came from some Tudor
embroideries I saw in the V and A Museum. The colour is all applied on the plate before printing, not painted on the finished print. The discipline of finding something appropriate for each month within a small area of Kew Gardens proved rewarding, and I noticed many things for the first time. I
felt quite sad when the year was finished.
