SKY ARTISTS BOOK
A series of solar prints about the clouds above my garden. Solar prints are often used with photographic negatives, but in this case I made the " negatives " by hand, using acrylic paint & charcoal on acetate. The foreground details were mono-printed onto the prints sepparately.

Book covers
Weeds and ivy throttle and hide
But upward look, the sky is wide,
Untouchable, Serene.
The planes thunder for half the day
But thankfully they go away
And quiet expands.
From deep cobalt to pale
The sky is backdrop to a trail
Of Alto Cumulus

Then visionary landscapes grow
And leaping horses, manes aflow,
and ever changing.

Next come cavalier plumes of  Cirrus
And huge ethereal winged birds,
Drifting, wheeling.
Suddenly a fist is there,
Mighty Thor in his realm of air?
Preparing his thunder.
The curtain falls with a gleaming frieze
Of scarlet and orange through the trees
Flooding the eyes.
This empyrean spectacle of air
Dwarfs our ivy tangles of care,
Gives a moment of calm.
